In February 2012, nine members of Madrone Audubon traveled to Panama with Talon Tours for a birding and nature adventure. The birding and wildlife was first class and we saw birds such as Blue Cotinga and White-whiskered Puffbird. We were all very impressed; Talon Tours will offer this tour again in March 2013.
From the Thayer’s Gull to the Island Scrub Jay, we found all the birds on our list plus some on this early March trip along the California coast from Monterey to Los Angeles.
Our thanks and gratitude go out to all the guides, drivers and staff of Canopy Tower and Canopy Lodge for taking such good care of us.
During our tour of the country we saw and heard a total of 332 bird species and witnessed some of the abundant mammals, amphibians, reptiles and insects that make this part of the world their home.
We saw 287 species during the tour and another 20 species during the extension to Lamington National Park.
